expressed through everything that surrounds us,

Symbolism in Your Environment

Our homes and offices are full of symbolism and the condition of your home is a reflection of your health.  Consider this ~ Cluttered attics can suppress higher aspirations and a disorderly, junk filled basement can be a sign of things deep rooted in your subconscious.  If you have continual plumbing problems, this negative energy may manifest itself as a bowel or urinary disorder.

Here are some guidelines to what each room in your home symbolises.  This is by no means a definitive list.  Use your intuition to guide you through your own home, as we all see and feel things differently.

Main Doorway ~ is the area where lasting impressions are made about who you are to all who enter and it symbolises the movement between your exterior and interior worlds.

Living Room ~ symbolises well-balanced relationships as it is the place where family members and guests gather.

Dining Room ~ symbolises healthy family communication as this is the place we come for the vital life affirming energy of nourishment.

Kitchen ~ symbolises wealth and prosperity as this is where the fruits of your labour are stored.  It is where you connect with what keeps you alive.  Our ovens also symbolise fire, which is the stimulant energy for abundance.

Office or Study ~ is symbolic of hopes and dreams expressed.

Bedroom ~ is a symbol of your deepest and most private self.

Bathroom ~ symbolises purification and the letting go of what no longer serves you.

Symbolism of Objects

The objects in our environment are also symbolic and when you have your Feng Shui eyes wide open you'll see that everybody's belongings provide accurate insight into who they really are and despite what they may say, what they truly want.  These objects are not random and they never lie.

When a single woman, who for some reason can never attract a steady relationship, carefully examines her home, only to realize it is filled with artwork of beautiful single women, the symbolism becomes obvious.  There are no happy relationships represented!  Her choice of artwork is a mirror of for her subconscious desires.

Symbolism in Nature

Plants, animals and insects have always been associated with compelling symbology as they represent our emotions, reflecting hidden behaviours or feelings that must be dealt with.  They also symbolize the unrecognized abilities we can manifest within ourselves.

Birds ~ are often considered a symbol of our spirit, as their ability to fly raises fresh awareness of the creativity and inspiration within us.

Water ~ is a symbol of creativity.  An energetic pool of inspired ideas being reflected back to us.

Fish ~ along with other forms of marine life reflect the Yin side of our spirit.  They symbolize intuition and creative imagination.

Using your intuition as well as common sense will help you discover what each element of the natural world symbolizes for you.
